The Sartorialist

I got this great book out from the library the other day called The Sartorialist. The librarian who checked it out for me told me to beware as it would inevitably cause me to spend money. After he had read it himself, this little wee book had twisted his arm and caused him to buy a new pair of shoes.
You can check out the website for Scott Schuman's blog at www.thesartorialist.blogspot.com, a completely addictive site, you could find the whole day has ticked by as you flick through the pic's here. Here are a few of my favorites from my latest visit...

Kraftbomb

Yesterday I had my very first stall at Kraftbomb in Grey Lynn. It was all very exciting and all together a successful first market. I had some lovely feedback from those who visited my stall and it was nice to meet some of the other crafty ladies near my stall.

The preparations for the day had kept me busy for a number of weeks leading up to the weekend and I was really excited to show some of the new products I have been creating including these leather cuffs.

Next weekend I will be selling for the first time at the Devonport Craft Market on Sunday the 4th July between 10 and 2pm held at the Devonport Community House in Clarence Street. You can visit the Devonport Craft Market blog at www.devonportcraftmarket.blogspot.com.

How to be an explorer of the world....

This is a great little book I've been reading for the last few weeks... written by Keri Smith, the entire book is dedicated to reminding readers to see the beauty of the world in the simplest of things. I understand she came up with the initial list one night when she couldn't sleep, putting together a list of what she had learnt over the years from artists and teachers. And from there the book grew into a collection of experiments and projects which could keep you busy for days. Some of her instructions include, 'How to wander aimlessly', 'How to uncover a mystery' and how to make 'goggles of enhanced perception'. You can check out her blog at www.kerismith.com/blog.
